Folk art evolved without any specific kind of academic instruction, but rather was a natural way for Flora to illustrate her family and ways they celebrated events and holidays. Using the most accessible art materials at the time were her children’s “magic markers”. Flora’s folk artwork explores life in a visual narrative story telling expression while documenting life cycle events or ways she remembers interacting with her family and community.
